Who are we?
Well, first of all, currently just one mixing & mastering engineer, but I would like to work with others in building this into a community.
My name is Jasper Nickels, an 21-year-old mixing engineer & producer. I live & work in Temecula, CA, and like most of you, this all started with a melody. My interest in music started with John William’s “Star Wars.”
But, my passion to produce audio for films sparked when I watched “Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl” by Hans Zimmer and played “Destiny” composed & produced by Michael Salvatori.
Uncertain about how to apply my musical knowledge after graduating HS, I turned to my older sister who advised to look into Audio Engineering as a career.
This led me into mixing & mastering, where I learned more about not just music genres, but the importance that goes most media “behind the scenes. Or I guess you could say, “behind the mixing console.”
While I’m currently not actively creating a lot of film scores, it’s a definite part of my future plans. My focus has shifted towards not only helping small artists & directors individually, but also creating a platform for wandering sound designers to learn everything about Audio Engineering.
